A proud graduate of Alice High School’s class of 1984, Rodrigo’s musical talent shone brightly as he played the coronet, an endeavor that showcased his early inclination towards the arts. His creative journey continued as he channeled his passion into a career that brought joy to many. Rodrigo spent his professional life as a highly skilled cake decorator at the Walmart bakery on Greenwood Dr. in Corpus Christi. He was not just an employee but an artist who brought smiles to countless faces with his beautifully crafted creations. His colleagues and customers alike will remember him not only for his extraordinary talent but also for the love he poured into each design.
Beyond his professional achievements, Rodrigo’s personal interests painted the picture of a man who cherished the world around him. He could often be found strolling along the beach, where he indulged in his hobby of collecting seashells, each one a treasure and a testament to the hours he spent in contemplation by the sea. His nieces, Audrey Hernandez (Matthew) and Victoria Robles, along with his nephew, Jesse Aguilar, will hold dear the memories of their uncle and he also leaves behind to cherish his memories his aunt, Alicia Moses, and numerous cousins..
Though preceded in death by his parents, Aida L. Rodriguez and Raul S. Rodriguez, as well as his brother, Roel L. Rodriguez, and his beloved dog, Barney, the love and memories they shared continue to live on. Rodrigo’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave; with a Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM that evening. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alice, TX, at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Cemetery, Alice, TX.
