Rose Anna “RoseAnn” Garcia, age 48, a treasured soul and beacon of joy, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 25, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Alice, Texas, on July 20, 1975, to her parents, Jose and Gloria Martinez, RoseAnn’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and the enduring strength of family. RoseAnn’s early years were spent in Alice. She attended schools within the Alice Independent School District, up to Alice High School.
RoseAnn was the epitome of a homemaker and was the most compassionate and loving caregiver to anyone in need of health care or a place to stay, dedicating her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. RoseAnn was known for her love of gambling, whether it was a friendly game of bingo or chalupa, or an exciting trip to play maquinitas or going to the casinos. Her wonderful sense of humor and her beautiful smile could light up any room. Her love for music of all kinds and dance was evident in her every movement, and she was often the first to get up and dance at any gathering, inviting others to join in the fun.
RoseAnn was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Alfredo Garcia III; her parents, Jose and Gloria Martinez; her brothers, Paul and Freddy Martinez; her sister, San Juanita Garcia; her nieces, Veronica Martinez and Stephanie Garcia; her nephew, Jose Martinez III; her paternal grandmother, Dolores Martinez; and her maternal grandparents, Asencion and Olivia Rivera.
Left to cherish and honor her memories are her children, Janie Martinez, Olivia Garcia, Jacob Garcia, Alfredo Garcia IV, Jon David (Rebecca) Ordonez, and Joshua Dylan (Jasmine) Martinez; her brothers, Ricardo (Joann) Martinez and Jose Martinez Jr; her sisters, Isabel (Richard) Sanchez and Mirabel Martinez; her in-laws, Alfredo Jr. and Juana Garcia; her grandchildren, Gloria Sky Martinez, Zoe Ortiz, Everly Martinez, Rylinn Ordonez, Jeremiah Ordonez, Jaxon Garcia, Zachary Garcia, and Jose Ortiz III; her favorite person that she loved and looked up to as a mother, Tia Rosalinda Hinojosa; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Her memory will be held as a precious gift, a reminder of the power of love and the importance of family. RoseAnn’s life was a beautiful melody of joy, faith, and kinship—a song that will resonate in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
RoseAnn’s family will receive condolences on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Trevino Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St., from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 1:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:30 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Services will conclude at the church.
