San Juana Prezas Trejo, was blessed with 100 years of life, was called home on Monday, April 3, 2023 at her daughters residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in San Diego Texas on November 24, 1922 to her parents, Jesus and San Juana Casso Prezas. She was a graduate of San Diego High School and attended Texas A & I University in Kingsville. San Juana was retired from San Diego ISD as an educator after many years of employment. She enjoyed dancing, traveling in the US and other countries, gardening, sewing, cooking, reading and was a den mother for the Cub Scouts of America. She was a active member of St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters and was Asociada with the Missionary Sisters of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. She was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be sadly missed by everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Margarito Trejo Sr.; her parents, Jesus and San Juana Casso Prezas; a daughter, Diana Trejo Edwards; grandson, Alex Eloy Trejo; her sisters and brother, Baudelia Prezas Longoria, Cristelia Prezas Barrera, Desideria Prezas Garcia, Martina Prezas Reyes, Adela Prezas Lopez and Jesus Prezas.
San Juana is survived by her two sons, Margarito (Sandy) Trejo Jr. of San Diego, Texas; Maximo (Amparo C.) Trejo of Bandera, Texas; daughter, Delma Trejo of Corpus Christi, Texas; four sisters, Santos Prezas Barrera Gonzalez of Canyon, Texas; Maria Prezas Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas; Elodia Prezas Alaniz of Angelton, Texas; Lydia Prezas (Regino Sr. ) Molina of San Diego, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Interment will follow at San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.
