ODILIA DELOSSANTOS-PEREZ On March 15, 2023, Odilia DeLosSantos-Perez passed away at the age of 85. She was born to Horacio and Olivia DeLosSantos in Benavides, Texas. Odilia was also known as Odie, Ama, Mamacita, grandma and Tia, she was a wonderful loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and great-great-great-grandmother, who helped raised and care for her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her. Odilia was a woman of faith and made sure her children learned the life values of hard work, honesty, being respectful, and family unity. She worked for Real for many years as a cook. She was well known for her delicious Fruit Cake, Pan De Polvo, cakes, cookies, and tamales, and let us not forget our favorite – homemade meals with homemade tortillas. One of Olivia’s favorite things – their annual tradition of going camping at Gardner State Park, especially since this was her rest time from housework, ironing, cooking and cleaning. She and her husband loved to go dancing and listening to music. They would say to each other who ever goes first make sure and save me “Un riconcito en el Cielo”. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 26 years, Jose Perez; parents, Horacio and Olivia DeLosSantos; her son, Anatolio Perez; baby daughter Olivia Perez; sisters, Omedie (Donato) Cantu, Alejandra ( Doroteo) Gonzalez, Martha Segura; brother Mario Segura; great-great-great-grandson Enrique Lichtenberger; son-in-law David Puentes; brother-in-law Roberto Saldivar. Left behind to cherish Odilia’s memories is her daughter Diana Lichtenberger-Puentes; sons, Jose Luis (Belinda) Perez, Rene (Audie) Perez, Jesse (Evelyn) Perez; sister Ofelia Saldivar; daughter-in-law Cynthia Perez; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family received condolences on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St. A Holy Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Funeral cortege departed at 10 a.m. for Mass of Christian Burial at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Benavides and was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023. followed by Rite of Committal and interment at Benavides Cemetery.
