Frances was also known as Ama, Mamacita, Wela, Grandma, and Tia and she was a wonderful and loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and great-great-great-grandmother. She was always attentive to the needs of her family and neighbors and was a lifetime supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She would always tell her children to have faith and trust in God because “Sin Dios no tienes nada”. She made sure they learned the life values of hard work, honesty, respect, and most importantly of all, family unity and love. She was a great cook and the smell of freshly made tortillas would greet her children as they were coming from school, which they enjoyed eating with mantequilla (butter). She loved shopping and spending time with her sisters. Frances’ favorite holiday was Easter because of its spirituality. She loved having fun with her grandchildren, especially the Easter egg hunt, and the family gathering to eat, laugh, joke, and rejoice with one another.
