Orange Grove – Irma G. Ortiz 66 years of age passed away on September 24, 2021, in Corpus Christi Texas. She was born November 6, 1959, in Orange Grove, Texas to Donesino and Petra DeLeon Garza. Irma was a housewife and she dedicated her life to her sons, making sure that their needs were always met. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mom, grandma, and a great grandma. Irma was a member of the St. John Catholic Church Guadalupanas organization, an avid painter of natural history usually landscapes and animals. She enjoyed working cross word puzzles and reading. She also had a passion for traveling and visiting family and different landmarks throughout the United States.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Manuel Garza.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years of marriage, Luis Ortiz of Orange Grove, Texas and her two sons, Jaime (Lisa) Ortiz of Hahira, Georgia, and Adrian (Sandra) Ortiz of Ft. Worth, Texas. Other survivors include four sisters, Maria Trevino of Round Rock Texas, Carmen Tamez, Lilly Coleman, and Beatrice Montez all of Corpus Christi, Texas and 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends and family on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 5:00 P.M. at Rosas Funeral Home. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 1, 2021, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church of Orange Grove, Texas. Burial will follow at the St. John of the Cross Cemetery.
